A lot of people already know Lindsey Stirling. If you don’t, Lindsey is one of America’s greatest modern violinists who rose to fame after sharing her incredible musical talent with the world, via YouTube, in 2007. She is 32-years-old and has 11 million YouTube subscribers; Lindsey is also a talented dancer, singer, composer, and performance artist.
Apart from Lindsey’s impeccable musical gifts, she is also known for her adorable-yet-spunky appearance, cute outfits, and beautiful music videos. While there are many great songs and videos we’ve received from the young musician so far, her violin version of ‘What Child is This?’ is one of the greatest and most fitting for this time of year.
At the beginning of the video, we witness Lindsey in a snowy setting decked out vintage-style in a headpiece, sweater, scarf, a pair of pink-and-black striped arm warmers, and boots; she’s wearing dark eyeshadow and her signature hairstyle.
Shortly after the video begins, the young violinist dramatically starts playing her violin while gracefully walking around as snow lightly falls all around her.
As the camera pans out, we notice that Lindsey is in the middle of a forest. With the river flowing behind her and tree branches dusted with fine, white ice, the scene couldn’t be more suitable.
Once the music picks up a little bit, Lindsey begins busting out some faster dance moves and flashing her pearly whites as she gets deeper into the music.
The song softly comes to a close and so does the music video as the camera slowly zooms out, leaving the long-skirted violin artist alone in the snowy forest once she hits the final note on her violin.
All in all, Lindsey, who was only 26-years-old at the time her music video was shot, did a remarkable job in her rendition of ‘What Child is This?’ while putting her own kinetic spin on the song in the process.
