Sometimes the unexpected happens. You’re going about a day that you have planned out so well, and then there’s a wrench thrown into the mix and all of a sudden, you’re left improvising for good measure. What can you do? You need to just go with the flow, right?
When it comes to time management and setting priorities, multitasking is a valuable skill. Other times, however, all it takes is one distraction to completely knock your day off completely, throwing your productive work schedule right out the 7th-floor window. If this happens to you more often than not (then, firstly, I’m sorry!), then you know that there are days where you’re ok with the change in plan, and other times you’re just frustrated. In the event that you have no choice but to go along with what fate has planned, you don’t know what things are going to turn out like anymore. Right?
Do you need a live example of a situation that went completely wrong after a well00-thought out plan? Keep reading.
Take this reporter who can barely keep on track with a conspiracy of lemurs (the actual group noun, how fitting!) hilariously clinging on to him.
This is Alex Dunlop with BBC News at the Banham Zoo in Norfolk, England covering their annual stock take of animals. The leaping lemurs are seen flying across the screen onto Alex as he tries to deliver the news. However, the esteemed reporter is having some difficulty.
Although he manages pretty well to keep it together, he can barely complete a sentence without an “Ow!” or some comment regarding the frisky creatures’ funny behavior. It doesn’t help that he’s holding food – the one lemur perched on Alex’s shoulder tries to swap at the contents of the reporter’s hand. Another one nips, while another few crawl and more continue to tackle him in this humorous onslaught. And through it all, between his pained facial expressions, Alex manages to play it cool.
This instant isn’t the first of it’s kind. Although I have yet to see other reporters hounded by animals at the zoo, I have seen anchors reporting from difficult areas and weather conditions that make reporting extremely difficult. They have, however, kept their composure and weathered that storm. I commend these professionals for always keeping calm!
Check out Alex below as he’s held hostage on camera by his trouble-making cute and furry new friends.
