Any group photo is a challenge to take. There’s always one person who wants to bed on this or that side because they think they actually have a better side in photos. Then there’s the short one who doesn’t want to be sandwiched between the tall ones, and the tall one who always has to go in the back. There’s a lot of logistics involved! And then add in the extra layer of babies and toddlers who can’t ever look straight into the camera for the life of them, and you’ve got yourself a full on photo shoot. It’s safe to say when you’ve got a bunch of people standing around trying to look pretty, it’s going to take a while.
So when the cameraman says, “Hold on, wait, we’re missing somebody,” that’s just going to tack on another few minutes as well as another layer of complication! Where’d this person go? Wait, who is this other person, cause we’re all here. There is no other person! Is there?
In this video, this family of eight, including two toddlers and a baby, are standing on a bridge in Falls Park, South Carolina, USA. It was a family outing on a beautiful day, so of course, it’s only normal to take a picture to have as a nice memory. But to have a nice memory, you want a nice picture. I can only imagine that there was definitely a bit of set up involved before the cameraman could snap a half decent picture.
Finally, this cute family got it together. The adults are ready, the kids are good to go, the cameraman is about to shoot, but something isn’t right. “Hold on we’re missing somebody.” Everyone suddenly looks confused, because as far as they know, everyone is there.
Seconds later, a familiar voice is heard, and a young man comes up from behind, saying, “Can I get in this picture with you all?” Unbeknownst to the family, army soldier Jared Johns got to surprise his mom by “photobombing” their picture. While the family knew of the surprise, mom did not and as a result, absolutely loses her mind when she realizes her beloved son is back home! She screams and freaks out and can’t believe what just happened! This reaction has to be one of the best ones I’ve seen in a while!
