Mom’s House Duck Greets Her With One-Of-A-Kind Welcome Every Time She Comes Home

Most pet owners have a dog or cat. Some have fish or birds while others have lizards. You might even find a gerbil or guinea pig somewhere in the mix, but these are your pretty average pets. Some households might have a couple of these, and might even have something a little more exotic like a snake or a tarantula, all of which, I’ve met and come across at one point in my life (seeing a pet snake was a whole other experience! Let’s just say feeding time can get a little complicated here and there).

But, to have a duck as a pet? That is something very new to me. Other than Chandler and Joey on “Friends” who took in a duck, I am not very familiar with owning one until I saw this. Introducing, Chantel Grant who has a duck, and it’s really darn cute!

Also, it’s a rescue duck whose name is Petunia. She was taken in when she was down on her luck and has been living with Chantel for just over a year. Now, she’s a house duck who is given a bedroom, all to herself. She’s even sort of house trained – she wears diapers just in case! There’s no denying this is one ecstatic little duckie, and when mom walks in after a long day at work, this waterfowl gets over the moon excited, like really excited!

It was on one afternoon when Chantel came home to an extra chippie duckie. She walked in to Petunia wagging her tail (yup, apparently ducks can do that, and with great fervor!) greeting her at the door! Petunia is extremely candid, as she wiggles and shakes, elated to see her favorite human return home. She can’t stand still, constantly moving about, ready for snacks and playtime!

Petunia throws her head back and chatters away, her beak moving quickly. She’s not quacking loudly, just a few little grunts as her tail wags at 100 km an hour! She is so happy and very much resembles a puppy in size and energy. Even the tiny talons on her feet make the same noise as a dog scuttling across the floor. She is basically a dog with feathers and only two feet instead of four! I bet she gets to go on walks and gets treats, too! What a sweet pet to have.
