There’s something so special and sacred about vows at a wedding whether they’re personalized, traditional, or repeated after the pastor or preacher. Some couples prefer to announce their promises loudly or over a microphone while others prefer to keep it on the down-low. Regardless, all vows have significance and are an integral part of a wedding.
Elisabeth and her soon-to-be husband said their vows back in 2012. However, the bride turned around to a piano, and her significant other walked her to it after it was announced that Alan had a particular song for her. Lucky for us, we’ve got the entire act on film!
Alan starts playing the piano and singing from his heart a song he originally wrote as a poem for his new wife. In fact, the groom didn’t complete the lyrics until just days before the wedding. Talk about pressure — yikes!
Nevertheless, the sweet melody was performed flawlessly and had his beautiful bride both in smiles and in tears. Her introverted body language tells us that even though she may be a shy person, she was willing to overlook all of that and open up to listen to Alan’s song. Many of the expressions on her face also suggest that she felt quite grateful for the romantic act he put on for his blushing bride.
To top it off, Alan’s voice and his piano playing were both phenomenal. Both Alan and Elisabeth are orchestra instructors in Houston, Texas. Alan instructs middle school orchestra, and Elisabeth does so at the high school level. Surely one can see why a ballad would appeal to the couple on both ends! Even the wedding guests were stunned, giving Alan a big round of applause after his tear-jerking song.
While plenty of newly-wed husbands and wives have surprised their partner at their wedding with something extra special, it never gets old seeing the creativity and effort go into making the wedding day even more romantic than it already is. Seeing the response from the bride or groom and the rest of the wedding guests is the cherry on top!
I think it’s pretty incredible that people like Alan are brave enough to pour their hearts out to their partner through song or other means at their wedding, regardless of how stressful and nerve-wracking this special day may be. I mean, there’s a lot to take in at weddings and a lot that could go wrong!
