A couple’s wedding day is arguably one of the most important days in their life. In a single day, two people stand up in front of their friends, family, or even just a couple of witnesses to proclaim their love for one another and their commitment to their relationship. Until that point, everything has been a progression towards that one special event, and now their life together can truly begin.
Hopefully, the wedding day is one of joyous celebration. Often, the couple has put hours of planning and a hefty sum of money into their big day, so they want everything to go perfectly. Unfortunately, things are bound to go wrong, but quick thinking and actions can save the day and get everything back on track. Something similar happens in the story we’re about to share with you now.
Imagine that you are enjoying your perfect wedding day. The ceremony is over, and it went off without a hitch. The flowers were beautiful; the vows were a perfect combination of romance and humor. You’re sitting down to a delicious dinner at your reception, surrounded by your closest friends and family, and with your newlywed bride right beside you. You’re looking forward to the toast that will kick off the grand reception, and eventually the partying will start. Everyone is looking forward to a great night.
Suddenly, someone starts screaming for help. What’s wrong? What are you going to do? Is someone hurt? The next moments and your decision may be the difference between life or death.
Fortunately, for Cody and Kelly Campbell, the couple of the house, when someone needed help, Cody was the first to respond. A guest was choking, and the off-duty firefighter jumped up and saved the day. This off-duty firefighter was also the one who got married that night, and the reason why guests were collected to celebrate. It’s amazing to see that even during his wedding reception, in the middle of a toast, this firefighter stood up against a challenge and saved a life.
Earlier, in his speech, a guest said about Cody: “If I’m ever in a position where I need a fireman to help me, I hope it’s you, or I hope it’s someone like you.” Those words were incredibly appropriate for the evening.
