Golden Bridge In Vietnam Is Like A Scene Right Out Of Lord Of The Rings

Who doesn’t like a little bit of site-seeing? I know for me, site-seeing is on top of my list for whenever I go on vacation. This reason is also why I always prefer to go somewhere with ample opportunity to explore, I’m not someone who can stick around on an island for five days and call it a week. I need to be up and about, on my feet, indulging in history, great food, and beautiful views.

This is the exact reason why I have recently put Vietnam on my list of places to visit. Vietnam is already so rich in culture and the food there is known to be beyond delicious. Who wouldn’t want to dig into large bowls of steamed rice, pickled vegetables, pho and so much more, on a daily basis?

However, besides the food and culture, there is one other alluring aspect that recently was made available to tourists and even those that live in the country. The Golden Bridge opened its doors to the public and it’s a site for sore eyes. It sits right outside Da Nang and people are coming from all over the world to see it in person. Its biggest appeal is the fact that it looks like the bridge is being held up by two giant hands. It’s quite remarkable.

The Golden Bridge stands tall and proud at 1,400 meters above sea level above the Ba Na Hills. The walkway is a golden-colored strip that arcs and curves in a very unique way.

Although it may seem like the distinct hands are made out of concrete, the designers clear the air. In conversation with Bored Panda, reps from Landscape Architecture, the company that made the now-famous bridge, says, “We designed the skeleton of the hands and covered them with steel meshes. Then we finished with fiberglass and added the theming on it. The entire construction of the bridge took about a year.”

The country has recently seen an increase in the number of tourists who do the rounds and the Golden Bridge is a great incentive to visit. Vietnam has allotted $2 billion to a plan that will help expand the tourism industry; this structure is a part of the hefty investment.

Vietnam recently announced the opening of the Golden Bridge.

The bridge stands 1,400 meters above the Ba Na Hills and looks like it’s being held up by two giant hands.

Landscape Architecture is the company that made the now-famous landmark.

Company reps say that people think the hands are made out of concrete, but really, they’re put together with steel meshes, and finished with fiberglass and theming.

The Golden Bridge has brought an increased number of tourists to the country.

This project comes as a part of a $2 billion investment that Vietnam made into the tourism industry.

The Golden Bridge is estimated to bring in another 1.5 million visitors to this already popular vacation destination.

It’s already started working its magic. Thousands of visitors have come flocking in since the opening.

And if the pictures weren’t enough, here’s a virtual tour of the bridge that is held up by “the hands of God.”
