I like the notion of being pleasantly surprised, like most people, I’m sure — thinking one thing, then being shown something else entirely! Like when I order something questionable from the menu, but it comes out looking great and tasting even better. Or, when someone looks like they can’t possibly eat the whole pizza but they do! The more something entirely throws me off guard with a something I didn’t see coming, the better.
This little girl is a perfect example of how looks can be deceiving. She appears small, and shy and contained, but when she opens her mouth and unleashes her talent, she’s got the whole restaurant rubbernecking around to get a better look.
Mom and daughter are casually dining at a fast food restaurant, when all of a sudden, the little girl starts belting out a tune for her neighbors seated at the next table over. One person whips out their phone and hits record, capturing the girl singing and the friend in complete and utter disbelief at what’s happening behind her. The young girl – as if on demand – is singing Jennifer Hudson’s “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from “Dreamgirls,” a vocally challenging and hard-to-master song.
But she delivers it with ease. Just hanging out with her mom, sitting down one evening, giving a show to anyone and everyone who will listen in the diner – she’s too cool! She can’t be more than 6-years-old, yet she’s got those high, and low notes bang on! The friend in the video is amazed, looking over her shoulder with her hand over her heart, probably wishing she could sing half as well as the little songstress beside her! Wow!
