As an avid fan of television talent shows, I’ve seen a lot of amazing singing performances. From “American Idol” to the “The Voice,” and “America’s Got Talent,” and “Britain’s Got Talent,” there is no shortage of truly talented singers out there in the world. There are plenty of people who impress judges and audiences and even win these competitions, but there are some performances that are unforgettable.
If I think of all the performances that I have ever loved, a majority of them would be in the “singing and dancing” category. There is something magical about the aura and energy these performers bring onto the stage, and I love a good song and/or dance performance.
The dance performances make me wanna get up and shimmy right in the living room. These routines are the ones that really amp me up to pursue my passion for dance again. But the singing acts are usually the ones that really evoke all types of emotion in me. I can laugh and cry with these performers, they have the power to move me and I’m not embarrassed to admit it.
With all of that being said, one of the most memorable performers, for me at least, has to be Ronan Parke. Ronan first came to the music world’s attention when he appeared on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2011. In his first auditions, the judges knew he was going to be a star. At only 12-years-old, he showed not only an amazing talent for singing but a professionalism on stage well beyond his years. He also displayed a humble and down-to-earth attitude.
Like most young singers with his kind of talent, it’s hard to imagine that such a huge voice came from such a small person. Furthermore, it’s difficult to fathom how he could inject so much emotion into his performances—he’s an “old soul,” and this quality seems to have worked in his favor.
Ronan didn’t win the talent competition but was runner-up. That didn’t stop his rise to fame, however, and he continues to be a presence in the music industry in Great Britain. But, people still remember this astounding performance on “Britain’s Got Talent.” He delivered with so much confidence and poise and these attributes helped him win over the hearts of every judge and his audience.
