Playing outside in the summer is much different than playing outside in the winter. During the warmer months, kids will put on their short, t-shirts, and flip-flops and head out into the sunshine. Maybe they’ll play in the sprinkler or go swimming at the local pool or even the beach. Collecting lightning bugs and blowing bubbles with those little containers of soap and tiny plastic wands are favorite warm-weather pastimes.
Most of us wouldn’t imagine doing most of those activities in the wintertime. Playing outside in the winter means coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. If it’s snowing, kids may build snowmen, have a snowball fight, or go sledding.
Winter weather activities aren’t usually the same as summer activities, but this woman decided to try one favorite summer tradition in the winter, and the result was beautiful.
Using soap to blow bubbles in the summer is fun, but doing it in the winter isn’t popular—perhaps it should be. In the summer, the bubbles last only seconds before they pop and are forgotten, but in freezing temperatures, those bubbles can last a bit longer.
The woman in the video braved cold temperatures and a stunning, white, snowy landscape to capture this footage. She ventured out with her soap liquid and bubble wand and then blew the perfect, round bubble. At first, it appears that like all bubbles that are blown this way it will just pop and disappear, but this bubble is determined to stick around.
Sitting on a picturesque pile of crisp, white, snow, the sun glints off of its surface. But it’s about to get even more beautiful—the bubble begins to freeze in the frigid temperatures. It transforms into a gorgeous winter sculpture, with a one-of-a-kind design.
