If you’ve ever watched “Britain’s Got Talent,” or one of the many shows like it around the world, you have probably noticed that it’s not just about the “talent.” Sure, there are tons of talented people that audition for the show. From first time auditioners who have only ever performed in front of a mirror in their bedroom to seasoned professionals looking for their big break, there are a lot of incredibly talented folks.
With so many people who are fantastic at everything from singing and dancing to comedy and ventriloquism, it is easy for an act to get lost in the shuffle. It is often the acts that have something unique that speak to the audience and judges. If they have a story that allows an emotional connection, they have a higher chance of standing out and making it to the next rounds.
Jack and Tim are a unique act — they are a father and son. In an age when kids are increasingly reliant on technology and spend less time bonding with their parents, most families don’t spend their evenings at home, working on their music.
These two have an obvious connection, one that can only be found among people with a strong bond. That bond brings something unique to their music and performance. It adds an element that doesn’t come from practice and training, but rather from raw talent, passion for music, and an emotional connection with each other and the audience.
When Jack and Tim auditioned for “Britain’s Got Talent,” they performed an original song titled “Lucky Ones.” The emotional song touched everyone in the room, but Simon Cowell was so impressed that he skipped the judging process and hit the golden buzzer!
It’s a serious feat to have Simon so moved and touched by a routine. A lot of contestants aim to compel the tough judge to hit the golden buzzer for them; it, however hardly happens. There is definitely something special about this father and son duo because even Sion couldn’t resist giving them another shot!
