Life is full of ups and downs. When we learn to appreciate the good days, we must remind ourselves that there will be a time when we’re going through our trials and tribulations, and in a way, those need to be appreciated as well because it’s only then that we wait for and value the good times. So much can go wrong in life, and there are times where you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s during those tough hours that you look for the smaller things in life to keep you positive. The story we’re sharing today has something to do with just that — the smaller things that bring pleasure during the rough times.
Becky was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2014. This diagnosis came five months after her mother Kim was told she has stage 4 ovarian cancer. Life came crashing down, and they didn’t know how they would come out of this tragic situation.
Becky and Kim became each other’s support system, and they would carpool together for their chemotherapy appointments and be just across from one another during these sessions. They were there for one another every single day, and aside from their family and friends being by their side as well, Becky and Kim also had Ellen DeGeneres.
In the video below, Becky and Kim are in the audience of Ellen’s show; they’re eventually asked to make their way to the front and join Ellen on stage. It is then that they tell Ellen how her show brought so much love, light, and laughter into their lives when they were battling cancer.
The mom and daughter duo are slowly recovering and getting back into life’s routine, and of course, Ellen is around to lend a helping hand.
