The videos in which a military officer comes back to surprise their spouse, kids, friends, or even their pets are some of the best videos on the Internet. There are thousands of them online, and they never fail to warm our hearts or make us laugh at how creative some people get.
Down below we bring you another one of these clips, and just like the other ones, this isn’t one that you want to miss. In this video, Dr. Alice Splinter is surprised by her husband Joshua Splinter. Joshua is a physician with the Texas Army Reserve, and he was deployed to Africa. However, he found out that he was going to be going home early, so he decided to surprise his wife at work. With the help of a friend, he executed his plan very well.
Joshua set up a camera in the room so he could see everything unfold. The plan was that Alice was going to walk into the room to meet her “patient.” Little did she know that her patient was actually her husband who she hadn’t seen in five months.
Joshua is sitting on the chair, “waiting for the doctor,” when the door opens. His friend comes in first, talking to Joshua and saying, “Hi, let me introduce you to Dr. Splinter.”
Alice looks at Joshua and says hi like it was just another day, but once the words leave her mouth and she really looks at him, and she says, “Oh my God,” before going straight into a hug. She doesn’t hesitate, and the look on her face plus her reaction really show us how much she missed him. They hug tight, and Joshua even lifts her up!
Alice says, “It took a second for me to take it in. I honestly almost passed out, my knees got a little weak, but I was so happy to see him. I just had to hug him, and stay in there and take in the moment.”
Even though Joshua was already home, he had been texting and calling Alice as if he was still in a different time zone. He had to tell her he was going to bed or else it would give his surprise away.
We love this surprise and all the thought put into it!
