Personality is everything. It’s what makes a person unique, and what sets them apart as wonderful and exciting, or as dull as dishwater! By adding your own touch to whatever you do, you’re adding a piece of yourself and creating your own brand. This is similar to what this wild father-son duo did on a reality TV show. They are oozing personality, and even Simon warms up to them by the end of it!
The judges are seated and ready to judge their next performer. Dad is 40-year-old Demetrios from the British-Greek Cypriot dancing pair, Stavros Flatley. He comes barrelling out from the side stage, instantly commanding everyone’s attention—this is only the beginning.
Loud Irish jig music is playing and Demetrios emerges onto the stage wearing extremely tight high-waisted, black pants and no shirt. He’s got on a fake blonde, scruffy wig and he’s running amok. The crowd and bewildered judges are in hysterics, fully accepting and loving the strange sight laid out before them. Just when you start to wonder what on earth this man’s talent can be, he actually breaks out into some serious Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley footwork. But wait, it gets better.
Moments later, a smaller version comes bounding out. It’s Stavros’ son, Michalakis “Lagi” Andreas and he’s a dead ringer for his dad, wearing the same decked out costume! From the wig to the belt to the bellies, their act is full to the brim with humor and personality. And, they can both dance! Between their funny gimmicky moves, there is talent. Even the son shows off some Irish tapping skills, and the two go off on a bit of dance-off, totally winning over the crowd, and most importantly, Simon.
It’s a high energy mishmash of styles, but it works! They pulled off one wholeheartedly unique performance that caught everyone’s attention. Stavros Flatley is a hit, and the dancing duo gets three yeses and the green light to go on to the next round. Their routine is pretty hilarious and memorable!
