5-Year-Old Sings Easter Song

We can all recall a song or two we memorized when we were younger. Whether it be “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star” or “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” these are lyrics we still can’t get out of our heads today despite learning them so long ago. Bring up the music, and we’ll be busting out the lyrics as if we just memorized them. (Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?)

To make it even more special, these sweet nursery rhymes are the same songs we teach our children and even grandchildren. From generation-to-generation, they live on no matter how much our world changes. You know that if nothing else, there’s one thing you’ll have in common with your child, and that is the pool of nursery rhymes the two of you know.

If you think all children learn the same songs while growing up, well, that may not be the case. One three-year-old girl named Claire Ryann (we’ve all heard of Claire, now) – while still so young – has already found her passion in singing, and no, her songs aren’t nursery rhymes like you may have expected. I mean, I’m sure she knows her fair share of those as well. But, for her age, she sings more complex songs that not everyone so young can sing.

Young Claire already shared with the world her version of the Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World” via a video, leaving millions of viewers in complete awe. Next thing you know, Claire’s grandma teaches her a spiritual Easter song, “Gethsemane,” which is not an easy tune for a toddler if I might add. After memorizing the lyrics, this tune became one of Claire’s favorites, and she couldn’t stop singing it.

The singer’s dad helped record her voice and put together the sweetest music video to share with the world a few weeks before Easter. If you know Claire’s journey, then you’ll also know how hard her dad has worked on her singing career with her.

This song truly captures the meaning of Easter as well as highlights the sweet child’s talent. And, although Easter has passed, it’s a song that you can listen to over and over again, at any time of year.

Unsurprisingly, her video reached 9.5 million views and counting!

It is hard not to fall in love with Claire’s soft, angelic voice to such a beloved holiday song. The music video is just a bonus.
