There are many important elements of a wedding. You always want everything to be perfect, every moment needs to be magical, just like you imagined it to be. So, couples leave no stone unturned to make sure things go as planned. Couples talk amongst one another and design all the finishing touches to their big day, and this includes the song for their first dance.
That first wedding dance is important. A lot of time and effort is put into choosing the first song you dance to with your life partner. Even if it was a no-brainer choice, it’s still emotionally charged and means a lot to both people. It’s probably the song that was playing the night they met or the song they heard while on their first date. There’s always a story to that selected track and if there’s a way to make it extra special especially if it’s been an exceptionally tough wedding to plan, then by all means!
Young and in love couple Samantha and Taylor originally had plans to wed in Mexico, but with Samantha’s mom’s health declining, the two couldn’t travel. They even decided to have it in the states, but when her mom was rushed to the hospital, they had to change plans again. Samantha even recently quit her job to be closer to her mom so she could be her caretaker – but she still had a wedding to salvage!
At this point, all that was important to Samantha was having her mom there, it didn’t matter where the wedding was. Then she found theknot.com and entered the Dream Wedding contest where she submitted her story and crossed her fingers. Who knew she’d actually win an all-expenses-paid, DREAM wedding day! But it gets even better.
Samantha and Taylor chose country star Canaan Smith’s song “Love You Like That” to be their first song. To them, it symbolizes their relationship and means so much, reminding one another of how much they love each other. So right after the ceremony was over, but right before the party started, guess who walked in and made their big day even bigger!
