Weddings are a feat to plan. There is so much that goes into the big day and then it’s all over in mere hours. Still, people go all out to make sure that their wedding day is as memorable as it can be, and I don’t blame them! It’s a beautiful day to mark the beginning of your new life with your soul mate, and it’s all about celebrating the love the two of you share.
People also like to renew their vows years into their marriage. It may be something to mark a milestone number, like five years of marriage or ten years of being together, or it may be a random and romantic plan to renew your nuptials. Whatever the reason behind it may be, even renewing vows can become another wedding ceremony that takes precision and planning.
There was a lot of precision and planning involved in this couple’s day when they were renewing their vows because the bride and her brother had something else planned — the groom was in for a big surprise.
Before we jump into the surprise, here are some things to know about the couple.
Val and Heidi were madly and deeply in love with one another and didn’t want to wait too long to get hitched! Instead of waiting (and planning) for months, the two agreed that they’d elope and get married. So, they did. Val is from Russia and Heidi is from Norway. They decided that they’d throw a beautiful ceremony for their loved ones for the fifth anniversary and renew their vows. They wanted to use parts of their heritage and culture in this ceremony.
The photographer was called in to capture the big day. At first, she didn’t know that the bride had a trick up her sleeve. But, as she got to know the family and everything that they planned, she knew she’d have to capture the moment the husband is surprised by Heidi and her family.
Since Val had been busy and stressed planning the wedding, admitting that it was a huge load and a lot of tension, Heidi wanted to lighten his mood and calm his nerves on the big day. To give her husband a good laugh, Heidi borrowed an old wedding dress from her friend. She got her brother to wear it and walk over to Val for the big reveal.
Val is standing there dapper and anxious to see his bride. But, when he turns around, he sets eyes on his brother-in-law and everyone has a good laugh!
