One of the reasons we love our pets is because they don’t talk back. We can tell them exactly what’s on our mind when we’re having a rough day, and in response, they just listen. Sometimes we need people (and pets) in our lives who allow us to express ourselves candidly, without judging us whenever we do open up.
While some may argue that the reason pets listen and don’t judge is that they can’t understand a word we’re saying, that’s not the point. Canines, in particular, are great listeners. Their large eyes are fixed on us as we talk, showing that they are loyal and truly value what we have to say, regardless of not genuinely understanding our speech.
Although we don’t expect our pets to understand, we always seem to talk to them anyway. However, in one viral video, we’re in for an unexpected treat when a man greets a dog. The dog’s response is leaving viewers shocked and humored at the same time!
In this viral video, we witness two dogs behind a wrought iron gate: a tiny Boston terrier and a large, black canine. Naturally, one of the men behind the camera says hello to the furry friends in a dog-like voice that sounds a little bit like, “Heh-wo!”
Repeating his greeting a few times, we are just as shocked as the people behind the camera when the black-and-white Boston terrier responds with a “Heh-wo” too! Can you believe it? I had to replay that part to make sure the video wasn’t edited with a voiceover, and sure enough, it doesn’t appear to be!
As the man greets the little guy once again, we get an immediate “Heh-wo” from the Boston terrier. Each time the man repeats the greeting, the dog instantly replies. It didn’t take long for the little fella to learn a bit of English!
Although the larger, black dog in the video is clearly a little shy, some of his gestures lead us to believe that he wants to attempt the greeting as well. Who knows, maybe the man in the video can teach the black dog how to speak one day too!
Nevertheless, the response from the terrier was enough to give us a great laugh! It’s videos like this that give us a friendly reminder just how smart animals truly can be.
You’ll die laughing when you hear the dog for yourself in the video below!
