I loved drama in high school! Coming up with fun little skits with your friends and then putting on the show in front of more friends is an absolute blast. The writing, rehearsing, planning, and the prep from start to finish is a labor of love. The only hard part is if you’re doing comedy and you have to keep a straight face throughout!
These seven high schoolers managed to put together a pretty clever skit that had the audience splitting in laughing. Just from the sounds of the yelling and screaming, you can tell they enjoyed every second! And what’s not to enjoy? These kids put on a pretty good show, hands down!
It starts off with five people sitting side by side on chairs mimicking seats in a movie theatre. A couple strolls in from the left looking for seats, but there’s nowhere to sit – together. There’s a seat on the end close to them and a seat far from them at the other end. The couple isn’t ready to walk out on the movie, so they begrudgingly split. They exchange a quick hug and kiss, sad not be in each other’s company, but this is their only option, and hey, it’s the Lion King. Who wants to miss out on watching the Lion King?!
The guy takes the far right and the girl takes the close left. It hasn’t even been a minute but, they miss each other already. In fact, he misses her so much that he makes a point to tell her and he’s not afraid to go to any length to show it. So, he gives a message to the girl beside him and it gets passed down. Everyone sitting between them passes the secret down to his date.
It starts off innocent, but that’s where the humor lies. Each “message” gets more involved and a little more intimate, setting off a domino effect of reactions until the couple gets frustrated and decides to leave. But, not before making it super awkward for everyone. It’s pretty well thought-out and rehearsed, resulting in a successful skit everyone enjoyed! The audience loved it, their cheers were more of a thundering roar than applause!
