When you first see her, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja looks like a little girl. She’s small and likes to wear LA Galaxy jerseys. Her hair is long, and she’s got a cute girlish speaking voice. She’s got a little more confidence than most girls her age, but that’s also because once she opens her mouth to sing, she steps into a whole other version of herself.
Malea is just 7 years old, but she’s already carving out her career path to become a superstar. She comes loaded with a huge voice that has only recently taken the world by storm, and if you haven’t heard her voice, here you go.
Malea’s voice is so big, she’s hitting notes even professional singers can’t reach. Her range is truly remarkable and reminiscent of some other famous divas (hello mini Mariah and tiny Christina!). Malea first caught everyone’s attention back in September when she opened the LA Galaxy game. Now, she’s doing it again and dazzling everyone before the big LA Lakers begin to play.
It’s safe to say this girl’s got it. Don’t believe me? You know you’ve made it when you’ve got American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest seeking you out instead of the other way around. Malea Emma’s father, Arman Tjandrawidjaja, told The Jakarta Post, “He then contacted American Idol’s producers to invite Malea for an audition.” Ryan even snapped a picture with the girl and posted it on Instagram after auditioning for judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Malea is still too young to compete – you must be 15 years old to enter – but by 2027, she’ll be ready to go, and when she is, she’s got a golden ticket already!
“She went full Christina Aguilera,” Ryan spilled on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “They [the judges] loved it; they thought it was very cute, but it was because David [Muir] said on the air.”
Malea is working really hard on her career already, but it’s also a labor of love. This is clearly her passion and she’s good at it, so all she’s doing is living out her dream, every single day. With a very bright future ahead, I think she’s got this whole life thing figured out already!
