Andrea Bocelli Sings Haunting Tune In Church When He’s Joined By Another Angelic Voice

Opera singers have perhaps one of the most challenging music careers compared to their non-opera singing counterparts. Like singers, opera singers must find the proper balance between the pharyngeal, nasal, and oral cavities. However, loud projection and proper use of emotion are extra crucial for those singing opera. Opera is certainly not something just anyone could do as it can create a lot of strain on the vocal cords. For that reason, finding a natural-born opera singer is no easy task.

But to date, Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli, is perhaps one of the most eyed-at opera singers. From his most recent album, his song ‘Ave Maria pietàs’ is peaking the interests of thousands. Any opera lover is going to want to hear his beautiful song.

In the music video of Andrea’s slow, eerie ‘Ave Maria pietàs’ which takes place in an incredibly detailed cathedral, his voice is not the only thing gaining the Internet’s attention–and neither is the unbelievable artwork present in the church. Less than half-way through the song, someone else chimes in: soprano singer Aida Garifullina.

The 31-year-old Russian singer, who has a voice so developed one would assume she’s twice her age, flaunts sleek, pin-straight hair and a white, bejeweled dress as a female and male ballerina put on a beautiful, dramatic dance through other parts of the church. The arts are definitely alive in this video: statues, architecture, intricate murals, singing, dancing, and if you count the music video itself, film.

About three-fourths into the music video, the singers beautifully stand side by side, singing at once, while folding their hands as an orb of illumination artfully peers between them. The music video occasionally flips back to the ballerinas dancing in the cathedral with rays of light bouncing in all the right places.

Toward the end of the video, Andrea and Aida end with a fading note as Aida places her hands gently onto Andrea’s. At the same time, the male dancer (who resembles Mary) dramatically holds the “dead” female dancer (who resembles Jesus) in a fluffy-skirted, white dress.

If that wasn’t one of the most incredible music videos, let alone songs, of 2018, I don’t know what is. Truthfully, the only thing that can be said is wow, that could leave just about anyone teary-eyed!

Listen to the jaw-dropping duet in the video below. You won’t believe your ears (and eyes if you watch the video itself)!
