Christmas is right around the corner, which means we get to enjoy Christmas carols, plays, and performances. With all of the festive activities and productions lately, it’s easy to delve right into the holiday spirit.
But there’s no such thing as “too much” Christmas! In fact, if you have yet to hear young singer Amira Willighagen’s ‘O Holy Night’ rendition, you’re going to want to do it this holiday season. Her powerful singing will completely blow you away.
Dressed in a red dress and a fluffy, white shawl at Saint Jacobs Church, the 12-year-old, at the time, singer completely stunned both a live audience and TV viewers with her angelic voice during a December 2015 Christmas special on the Dutch television program, ‘Max Maakt Mogelijk.’
As the preteen stood tall yet calmly on stage, the audience, who were circled around tables, all kept quiet with their full attention directed toward the young star. In between the girl’s singing voice, you could just about hear a pin drop as guests kept still and silent.
But what makes Amira stand out from other singers her age during this holiday performance is that she has an incredibly mature voice that can be comparable to an opera singer. Amira’s sweet yet dominant voice can hit notes the average individual can’t reach, and truthfully, no young singer’s voice would be better suited for this particular song than Amira’s!
One special guest, a 105-year-old woman, was particularly thrilled to hear Amira’s ‘O Holy Night’ rendition, smiling throughout the performance. In fact, Amira dedicated the song to her as she sang on the church stage.
For those who don’t know who Amira is apart from her 2015 performance, the young Netherlands gal has been singing since the ripe age of nine. For her incredible voice, she won after ‘Holland’s Got Talent’ and was connected with famous orchestra director and violinist, Andre Rieu.
The singer has also done charity work within her community, donating half of her profit to build a playground for children and founding a charity organization of her own.
Amira, now 14-years-old and still juggling her music career with school and a charity organization, may have a lot on her plate, but this young singer has a bright future ahead of her. If anything, her bright future is already here!
