As humans, we are naturally visual creatures. It’s in our nature to want to watch something, anything, whether we understand it or not. We can be revolted, and continue to watch. We can find sheer joy, and continue to watch. We can encounter something strange and never seen before and still watch! Ah, the internet. It’s a glorious place, isn’t it?
It’s true that we’re all inclined to follow the masses at some point or another in our lives, so it’s no surprise that 13 million people have avidly watched the video below, which means that it’s got to have at least some appeal to it, right? And we, at MetaSpoon, wholeheartedly agree that this video is super impressive and rather captivating.
The clip takes place during an extremely cold and wintery day, where the streets are piled high with mountains of snow. Does that stop the transport companies from getting their passengers from point A to B, though? Absolutely not! In fact, the mere journey itself is something that is completely mesmerizing. Luckily, it was caught on camera.
The event took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, and shows Canadian National Railway locomotive 2304 (ES44DC) plowing through huge snowdrifts. The CN manifest train 406 West was en-route (Moncton, NB to Saint John, NB) at Salisbury, New Brunswick.
The area had received three snowstorms in one week, which if you’re from the east coast, you know is pretty common during the winter months! As a result of so much snowfall, train drivers were left feeling quite anxious and extremely cautious, as it’s evident that, at times, there is no visibility for them at all. Crazy? Agreed! Would you be able to endure this?
It’s safe to say that this train was literally “dashing through the snow,” making it an awesome visual effect around Christmas time to the popular Christmas carol, “Jingle Bells.” Seriously, this is some hardcore winter here and a very cool thing to feast your eyes on. Train conductors probably see it all the time, but for the rest of us, it’s pretty darn neat. Happy fall is here and winter is just around the corner? Check it out for yourself.
