Couple Performs Swing Dance Routine At Happy Stomp Festival

With so many different kinds of styles of dance to choose from, selecting one to perfect can prove to be quite challenging! I know for me, I like a little bit of everything and would have a hard time choosing one. But, for those who aren’t as indecisive as me, sticking to one is where the magic happens! It’s when you stick to one dance form that you can really tighten up your skills and join a community of others who are into the exact same stuff as you are. And, what was once a hobby then becomes a lifestyle! It becomes something you live and breathe and get really deep into.

That’s what happened to Joanna and Henric Stillman. These awesome dancers are professional swing dance instructors and performers, specializing in Lindy Hop, a kind of swing dance that combines both closed and open positions, creating the most popular step known as the “swing out.” These two teach around the world as well as compete, and once you see this video, you’ll get a better look at just how talented they are!

Participating in the annual Happy Stomp Festival in Granada, Spain, a festival that celebrates and brings together all sorts of swing dancing from around the world, the couple shows off their smooth and stylish moves. It’s one big crazy 1950s dance party, and everyone looks the part! Joanna and Henric chose the song, “Long Tall Sally,” by Little Richard, to dance up a storm. Their routine is a swirl of high energy and big smiles that show off their intricate footwork and fancy moves!

Honoring the traditional technique, Henric, and Joanna light up the floor. Their chemistry is undeniable, their love and trust shine through with every switch and move. There are flips and slides, tight locks and sidestepping so in sync, you can’t help but wonder how many hours they’ve put in over the years! This is truly their passion and they love dancing with every fiber of their being. What a lovely connection to have between husband and wife!

They’ve even thrown in a few little moves that add to the fun of the song, like when Henric mouths the word “oooh!
and puts his hand behind his head; or, when Joanna gets tossed and flips in midair! Flawless! This is a really fun and high vibing performance.
