Remember the days when your friends used to call the house line to have to speak to you? There was no such thing a cellphone, and if something important called (umm, maybe homework?), everyone had to pick up the receiver and press physical buttons on a phone to hit someone up.
The thought of that may sound bizarre to us all, but if you come to think about it, the idea of cellphones or should I say smartphones, is probably equally bizarre-sounding to our grandparents. Don’t you think so?
With so many moving parts on a modern day smartphone, it’s really easy to get confused. Which button does what? How do you access this app and turn on that function? Or shut down this window to get into that folder? And sometimes all you want to do is just make a call! Or take a quick selfie.
Well, grandma over here just upgraded to a brand new smartphone, and she’s having a little trouble trying to get it to work. Apryl’s grandma had the new phone in her hand, and after a few moments of overhearing her chatting to herself, Apryl couldn’t help but peer over and see for herself what on earth was going on! This hilarious video of grandma just trying to piece it all together says it all.
The video opens with grandma asking Apryl what’s going on with her phone and why is she looking at her face. She starts to comment on her wrinkles, literally poking at her cheek, astounded that she can see herself on the screen.
Apryl recommends grandma take a selfie, to which grandma has no idea what that is, and says she wants her flip phone back. At this point, she’s not even sure what she’s trying to do! Apryl asks if she wants to make a call, and grandma says she wants to take pictures of “over there!” Then they realize she’s not getting very far because she’s taking a video instead.
