Police Seize Man’s Batmobile Replica

Growing up, many of us looked up to superheroes and s***********s. Even someone like me who preferred playing Barbies as a child became interested in these fictional characters. But interest in such isn’t only limited to childhood. Some people collect comics, apparel, and other objects containing their favorite hero or h*****e as adults.

However, would you go as far as to have a car custom-made for you that closely resembles Batman’s Batmobile? Apparently, a 32-year-old man from Moscow, Russia did exactly that, and his vehicle was seized from him by the police!

The reason it was taken? According to Moscow’s Ministry of Interior, it may not be fit for road safety conditions due to its dimensions that “exceeded acceptable norms.”

Other viable reasons they made before confiscating the Batmobile twin was because it was “not manufactured within factory conditions,” nor was it publicly registered or even roadworthy-certified (basically, the Russian version of being MOT-certified). Yikes!

Not only does the anonymous man have to say goodbye to his beloved mobile, but he’s being investigated on three separate charges. The first charge is for driving a vehicle lacking official documentation. The second and third charges relate to the vehicle’s massive size/weight and its unusual features that are considered “unsafe” for public roads.

It looks like his Batman days are over, but he’s not the only Russian with a vehicle of this sort. Apparently, a car similar to the busted Batman’s was sold on Auto.ru, a website where cars are traded. The Batmobile-liked car, which was named the Batmobile 2018 I, was imported to Russia from the U.S. in 2018. Once the electronic components were placed in the vehicle after its importation, it sold for 55 million roubles, the equivalent of $840,000 in the U.S.

Same vehicle? Different vehicle? Who knows. But one thing is certain: Batman enthusiasts are interested in driving their very own custom Batmobile. I don’t blame them, honestly.

The public would agree. One person even suggested that the owner of the car should at least be allowed to take it to car shows. Many others all agree that it’s a cool car and nothing short of a great work of art.

“Wow… that is impressive work by that Russian! Shame they took it away from him. Hopefully he can find a way to get it back,” one person said in a comment online.

While that might not end up being the case, I think it’s a pretty sweet ride. Check it out in this video!
