Every child growing up has done something silly like flush their father’s watch down the toilet or draw on the walls with brightly-colored crayons. Parents may react in frustration to these things. Although, young children usually don’t do things like this in a spiteful way. Sometimes kids just want to have fun, but they don’t always know what the boundaries are.
I remember one time in kindergarten when we were doing arts and crafts, I cut a tiny piece of my own hair with scissors. At the time, I thought what I was doing was acceptable, but little did I know that the teacher would get me in trouble! Speaking of haircuts, in a viral story that takes place in Queens Creek, Arizona, 3-year-old Colt gives his little sister, Kimber, a new hairdo. Different from my story, however, the toddler cuts more than just a little snip of his sissy’s hair. In fact, the haircut was so bad that Mom Breana Naylor had to hire her hairdresser friend and neighbor, Jen Bullock, to fix it!
Moments leading up to discovering that Colt had taken the role of hairdresser too seriously, Mom realized that the house was extra quiet. Normally, her 2- and 3-year-old could be heard playing rooms away.
“A few more peaceful minutes pass and I’m like, ‘Fine, I’ll be a responsible parent and check on my kids,’” Naylor says.
That’s when she found her kiddos in the closet. There Colt was holding a pair of scissors, and on the floor were traces of Kimber’s blonde hair! It was clear what was going on. According to the mom, her son was “holding the scissors up to Kimber’s head and she was sitting very still as if he instructed her to do so.”
Although hair grows back, the aftermath wasn’t pretty! Two-year-old Kimber had multiple one-inch-long sections of hair missing on the right side of her head. The thick, blocky, uneven patches left Naylor unsure what to do.
“When I saw the damage, I just laughed,” Naylor tells Mom.com
Kimber’s father, however, wasn’t as pleased to see his daughter’s new ‘do. Fortunately for Naylor, she had a hair appointment for herself with Hairdresser Bullock the next day.
According to Naylor, “I said ‘Jen, forget about my hair, Kimber needs your help!’”
After she sent the hairdresser an urgent text along with photos of her daughter’s hair, Bullock rushed over to the Naylor household to see what she could do. It’s clear that Bullock has plenty of experience up her sleeves because she resolved Kimber’s erratic cut!
Not only did Bullock fix the patchy hair situation so that nobody would ever know about her previous haircut fiasco, but the blondie was given a short, asymmetrical hairstyle that matched her playful disposition perfectly.
“I’m not sure if Kimber realizes how rad she really looks. It’s as though her hair matches her spunky personality now, or maybe she’s more spunky because of her rad hair.”
