Most people are afraid to put themselves out there and follow their dreams. Usually, people are afraid because they care about what people will think about them. However, in the video down below, 14-year-old Allie Sherlock shows that she’s not one of those people.
Allie has over 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, where she uploads videos of herself singing while playing the guitar on popular streets. She’s been busking for a couple of years now, and it’s obviously paid off because the video below has over 413,000 views and rising. In this session of hers, Allie covers the classic Elvis Presley song “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and she slays it!
As she plays her guitar, she sings both strong and soft notes into a microphone. She’s got that break in her voice that everyone envies when she sings the really high notes. When she sings, “Like a river flows,” she belts out the last word, and it gives you chills. Her runs are amazing, too.
When the person recording her turns the camera around to the front, you finally get to see that there are at least fifty or sixty people there watching her. If she can make at least that many busy people stop and listen to her, then you know she’s talented. What makes this video crazier is that, despite how many people are watching and walking in front and behind her, she doesn’t sound or look the least bit nervous.
During the entire performance, she plays her guitar without making a mistake and sings without a shake in her voice. Toward the end, her voice starts getting softer, and the chills are back. She looks at the camera just as she nears the end of the song and gives everyone a smile. This young girl has talent beyond her years and confidence that will inspire you. This is one cover you don’t want to miss.
When she reaches the end, she gets a couple of whistles, tips, and “Whoops!” and lots of claps. She can’t see us, but we’re over here clapping, too.
After you hear this once, you’ll want to hear it again. How do I know? Because that’s exactly what we did! You may even hear it a third time when you show it to a friend or your sister.
