300 People Sing An Epic Rendition Of “Carol Of The Bells”

YouTube

We love to listen to Christmas music once November 30th turns to December 1st, and we can only assume that you love it just as much as we do. Millions of people listen to classic Christmas songs being covered by their favorite artists every year, and somehow the songs get more and more original.

The video down below is another cover of a classic song that sounds just as beautiful as the original, but with a different spin on it. The incredible video was uploaded by Peter Hollens, a musician on YouTube, and he covers “Carol of the Bells.” But, he doesn’t do it alone.

Peter gathered more than 300 chorus members to help him create one of the most epic renditions of “Carol of the Bells” that we’ve seen. Peter was joined by the BYU Vocal Point Men’s Choir and the One Voice Children’s choir in order to reach his goal, and we (plus over a million others) can say that he did.

The video begins with Peter singing by himself—or rather, multiple versions of himself—as he makes noises representing the instruments of the song. That’s right, it’s a capella! Soon, the men’s choir joins him. Their voices sound well-rounded, and their harmonies are tight.

The scene changes, and now Peter is sitting on a Lazy-boy right in between numerous men from the choir. They all gather in the middle to sing together. The videography is amazing, and you can’t help but wonder where they’re going to go to next.

After, Peter is walking down between two rows of other singers. Here, it gets even better. About midway of the two rows, a few little girls in red dresses and boys in black shirts walk out of the crowd, singing along to the song.

Their high-pitched and sweet voices are exactly what the song needed to sound well-rounded. As the camera continues to zoom out, you see an entire group of these children now gathered.

Once again, the scene switches, and now there’s an entire room of the BYU Vocal Point Men’s choir, and the One Voice Children’s Choir singing together. By the end of the song, everyone starts to slow down and Peter is left singing alone as both choirs hum in the back.

The magnificent performance really brought us into the Christmas spirit. If you’d like to feel it too, watch the performance in the video below! Prepare to get the chills.
