If there’s anything people love more than following the moves of their favorite celebrities, it’s following the relationships of their favorite celebrities. After Gwen Stefani’s divorce with Gavin Rossdale and Blake Shelton’s divorce with Miranda Lambert, Gwen and Blake were still open to another shot at love–with each other!
Together for over three years, people consider Gwen and Blake the perfect example of opposites attract. But what the two celebrities have in common, apart from their love, is their career in music. But interestingly, Gwen’s elaborate rock-ska, pop-punk lifestyle and Blake’s country roots somehow merged perfectly together, which becomes even more apparent in their recent Christmas song, ‘You Make it Feel Like Christmas.’
In the beginning of the music video for their festive song, Gwen and Blake are driving in a red convertible on a snowy day with a cut Christmas tree between them. Gwen is rocking medium-lengthed curls in a cheetah-print jacket while Blake is dressed in a simple jacket, already resembling their differences.
The next thing people notice about the duo is Blake’s country rasp and Gwen’s mezzo-soprano voice in the song. Yet, just like their relationship, their seemingly opposite voices work well together.
Scenes change from Blake and Gwen dressed in formal attire indoors to the couple back outdoors building snowmen together. In the latter scene, Blake makes an average snowman but Gwen constructs a highly-detailed Michelangelo David replica. Again, this is the perfect representation of how the two lovebirds are essentially complete opposites.
Apart from the love Blake and Gwen share and the lyrics to their cheerful, sweet song, one of the best parts about this music video is that it perfectly resembles what we’d imagine their relationship to be like. There are adorable scenes of the two throwing things at one another, Blake almost crashing the car with Gwen playfully getting scared, and Gwen pretending to cheat on Blake with Santa Claus.
I think the real highlight of the song is Blake and Gwen’s relationship. That said, the two prove that not only should we not be afraid of giving love another chance, but we should also not fear to be in a relationship with someone who has a completely different lifestyle or set of interests. Love is love!
