Michael Buble Gets Emotional About His Son’s Cancer Battle During Carpool Karaoke

The unfortunate truth is that the rate of childhood cancer has been increasing within the past few decades. Although there are more advancements and plenty of research happening to find the cure, things take a turn for the worst for a lot of families who have a child battling the disease.

But, it’s not just the average folk who receive heart-breaking news that they, or a loved one, has cancer. For those who don’t know, singer Michael Buble’s 5-year-old son, Noah, was first diagnosed with liver cancer back in 2016. Since then, Michael and his family have been through a major emotional upwhirl from Noah’s initial diagnosis to his recent remission.

In fact, the singer participated in a carpool karaoke session on the Late Late Show with James Corden to sing some tunes and talk about his new music. Through the session, James and Michael also speak about Noah’s journey with cancer, and it will leave you with so many emotions.

But, before getting into the serious conversation, the men put on a great show jamming out to several of Michael’s songs. My personal favorite is the duo’s rendition of  “It’s a Beautiful Day;” their voices complimented one another’s so well. In the video, it’s apparent that the two are fully immersed in the karaoke session based on the expressions on their faces and their body language.

But all of the positivity, joy, smiles, and laughter flooding the vehicle suddenly disappears as the host brings up the rough couple of years Michael has been facing in regards to his son’s cancer battle. The star singer’s face goes from bright and lively to teary-eyed in a split second.

“…we got the diagnosis, and that was it, man. My whole life ended,” Michael replied when James touched on the topic.

Although Buble admitted that the outlook was not looking so great and that the situation was incredibly devastating for his whole family, he praises God for his son’s remission: “…we just had the best doctors, and God, thank you, Jesus Christ, God… When they got it out, and the chemo was done… I fell, I just, I just fell, and my wife picks me up now.”

“I always say to [my son], Spiderman’s amazing, Superman’s amazing, but they’re fake. They’re not real. You’re a superhero. You’re my hero, my real superhero,” continues Michael.

Since Noah’s battle, Michael has developed an extra special heart for those with cancer, urging others to make a difference, even if it means only saving one person’s life. Just one small donation can help researchers learn more about the causes, treatments, and even potential cures for different cancers. We all have the power to make a significant change.

No doubt, Michael’s emotional story will make you cry, smile, and rejoice all at the same time. Watch the full video of the carpool karaoke session below.
