If you ask anyone, they will probably tell you that they could use a vacation. Most people don’t have the luxury of a life of leisure and have to hold down a job to pay the bills. That doesn’t mean that everyone hates their jobs; I’m sure that plenty of people actually like what they do for a living. But, there’s a pretty good chance that they would rather be doing something else, like traveling and experiencing things they never have before.
It’s important to take a break from the grind and stress of everyday life and to get out and see what the rest of the world has to offer. Your “break” doesn’t have to be a month, a week, or even more than one day — even a quick day trip to somewhere new can bring some much-needed relief.
But, if you do have some time to travel, you might want to consider a trip to Great Bear Lodge in British Columbia, Canada. The beautiful vacation spot is located fifty miles from Port Hardy near an area called the Great Bear Rainforest. It’s considered one of the best places in the world to see Brown Bears, also known as Grizzly Bears.
The scenic location is not only extraordinarily beautiful and picturesque but the lodge also hosts Great Bear Nature Tours, which is rated by National Geographic Adventure as one of the Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth. Visitors, accompanied by expert guides, are almost guaranteed the opportunity to view a Brown Bear in its natural habitat.
Of course, in this location, there will be other wildlife, as well. However, on one particular day, visitors, guides, and lodge staff witnessed a very rare animal visitor. The guests were asleep in the beds when they were hurried out to the dock overlooking the water. But, the rush wasn’t only to enjoy the spectacular scenic views — someone had noticed a ring of bubbles at the top of the water.
As people gathered around to watch, two humpback whales broke the surface of the water, squirting mist from their blowholes. As one person caught the entire thing on video, we can see not only the impressive sight but the looks of awe on everyone’s faces. I’ll admit that when I watched the video, I realized that I had the exact same expression.
