Elvis Sings Gospel Duet With Lisa Marie

Elvis Presley touched the lives of many during his lifetime. It’s been just over 40 years since he passed away, and he is still among us. Over the course of three decades, Elvis released over 100 singles, and over 70 albums, and starred in at least 33 movies. Going to Las Vegas is impossible without hearing his music or seeing an impersonator. And, have you ever been to Graceland? Now that is a cool place to visit! Actually being able to see the King of Pop’s home is like stepping into a time warp – it’s been left exactly as it was when he lived there.

There’s no doubt this man has left a lasting effect on all those who grew up with his music. Even after his untimely passing, he’s still around with another posthumous release, but this one is extra special.

While there have been releases of his music since his death, this one is with his daughter, Lisa Marie. With the help of a dedicated production team, incorporating newly-recorded instrumentation, rare vocals from the legend himself and backing vocals, Elvis’ gospel recording, “Where No One Stands Alone” is brought to life. With the addition of Lisa Marie’s voice, the track is stunning. Hundreds of hours of manpower were poured into transferring, upgrading and enhancing the original vocals. The result? A rich, jubilant recording of father and daughter singing together.

In an interview on the British talk show “Lorraine,” Lisa Marie opens up to discuss her recent struggle with addiction. The mother of four confesses how much she looks up to her father in Heaven. “I wouldn’t say I talk to him. I just remember everything. I can sort of pull out of the files whatever memories I have and stuff like that. And occasionally ask for help, which was the case with this record. I just felt like a hand came down to me, it felt like that a little bit.”

Recording this duet was a way for her to reach out and feel closer to her deceased father. It pays homage to him but has been helpful for her in dealing with her own pain. It also sounds so darn good together! It’s a bit of a tear-jerker, so you better have a couple of minutes to spare when you’re watching this moving music video.
