Cops Help Out Starving Family Of Five

I’m sure you’ve heard the common saying, “When it rains, it pours.” Just when we think things can’t get any worse, there’s one problem you’re dealing with and another one creeps up on you, things seem tougher than ever. There’s no way out.

Shannon Loveless and her family were homeless and without much food and clothing for the last four months. The woman and her three kids had been living out of their van for the last few months and things were getting hard.

They’d camped out behind a local Walmart in Sacramento and would hunt around for scraps and food to eat; they also turned to local food banks for their daily meals. Just when Shannon thought that things couldn’t get any worse for her and her three kids, two deputy officers show up where the family was parked.

Shannon was busy making lunch with whatever they could find that day when two deputies, Tim Yee and Johnny Le, paid the Loveless family a visit. The mom’s very first thought was that the officers would tell her to pack up and leave the area, she said the police hasn’t been kind to her and her family in the past. But, this time around things were different and it worked out in her favor.

The deputies saw the condition this family was in and returned, coming back later with something that none of them saw coming — bags full of fresh groceries, toys, and clothing. This wasn’t the only thing they did for the Loveless family. Because they were struggling to find a home, the deputies put them all into a motel until social services can step in and find them a permanent home. Shannon is so grateful for everything the two men have done for her.

She says that this changes her perspective on the police, as well. They’re not people that always come with bad news. The deputies also agree that people don’t see police officers in a good light and so, when they get a chance to do something good for the community, it really changes people’s outlook.

Shannon was brought to tears over all that the police department was able to do for her family. She said that she’s glad her kids now have a warm place to sleep and that they’re able to watch cartoons and do normal things that kids do. It’s truly a touching story with a really good ending.
