I know after a long hard journey, coming home just feels so good. It’s the thought of having your own space, your own bed, and your own couch! A nice home-cooked meal, an extra hot shower and the chance to catch up on laundry (I mean, how great is fresh-out-of-the-dryer laundry?) is sometimes the best feeling ever. It feels good to open the door, drop your bags and get back to routine, including having your dogs jump up and trample you! Remember the opening credits to “The Flintstones” when Dino surprise attacks Fred when he walks in from work? Yup, that’s what I’m talking about!
In this hilarious video, Freyja the super excited German Shepherd gets to be reunited with her owner who was deployed for the past nine months. Her reaction is priceless!
Dad just got home. He’s still got on his army gear, but since it’s been a while, he’s enjoying the first few moments at home, taking it all in! He’s leaning back, arms outstretched, just hanging out when he becomes distracted. There are sounds of dogs in the background, and it’s the calm before the storm. Seconds later, Freyja comes hurtling into view and throws herself onto dad!
The man couldn’t be happier with this warm welcome! The two are thrilled to be reunited, but it’s the dog who’s really soaking up all the love. She can’t sit still, and her tail is wagging a hundred miles a second! Freyja’s little whimpers are sounds of happiness and joy, over the moon to be with her human. A few more dogs show up out of the blue, and it’s a big reunion with the one they’ve missed most.
Freyja is taking in all the belly rubs, and won’t stop licking dad’s face. She’s literally so excited she cannot contain herself and gets so overwhelmed, she climbs off of dad and the couch, to walk to the other side and jump back up again and get some more love and cuddles! She can’t stop rolling and whining, relieved that he’s back home, obviously just for her! I think we can easily assume the dad was more than happy to see how happy his pup was at the sight of him!
Mom, who’s holding the camera, cannot stop giggling and cheering on the love fest that’s happening right before her eyes. This is the best welcome home party ever!
