It’s all in the dress! Hours spent researching online and flipping through bridal magazines. Humming and hawing over which style and cut and shape to choose. Hours are spent in front of the mirror wondering how the dress looks from this angle, or that side, wondering “Does this make me too round? Too square? Too long? Too wide….?” Thank goodness traditional wedding dresses only come in one color! Can you imagine the turmoil and stress if you had to choose a color too!?
This is what 23-year-old Jordyn Cleverly was struggling with when she had a brilliant idea to work with what she’s got, and we’re sure this was one of the best decisions of her life!
Jordyn searched high and low for the wedding dress of her dreams but just couldn’t find one that matched what she was envisioning. Then she had a bright idea to borrow grandma’s. It had meant so much to Jordyn’s grandmother, why not carry on the tradition and wear it on her own big day?
Unbeknownst to Grandma, Jordyn was able to sneakily find and locate the dress among Grandma’s possessions, and reveal it to her at the dinner rehearsal. Upon walking out, Grandma couldn’t stop looking at her. Jordyn says it was a really touching moment that rendered her speechless, until she could mutter the words, “Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.” Jordyn goes on to describe that she actually blacked out for a moment, saying it was such an emotional rollercoaster! Aw, what a beautiful thing to do!
