Man Adopts Two Dogs Who Refuse To Be Separated

Animals often get discredited for the bond they share with others. The saying goes, “A dog is a man’s best friend.” Yet, it is never the reverse; many presume that canines cannot care and love other humans or animals the way we do. However, what one man witnessed at an animal shelter proves the latter point wrong.

To jump into the gone-viral story, Merrill the three-year-old pit bull was soon to be adopted after residing for years at the no-kill, non-profit shelter Rocket Dog Animal Rescue, in Oakland, California.

During her time at Rocket Dog, Merrill befriended an eight-year-old chihuahua called Taco. Even when Merrill needed surgery, Taco stood by her side. The two friends were never keen on the idea of being separated from one another and were often found cuddling together.

Then things took a turn. When Merrill’s new owner came to pick her up to take her home, Merrill began to whimper. Taco also started to cry in fear that best friend Merrill would be taken away.

That’s when the man decided to not just take Merrill but also Taco. Both pups now happily live in the warm and loving home provided by their new owner.

The two best friends can still be found cuddling together and spending countless hours near one another. If not able to be together, Taco and Merrill cry until they can see each other again.

The latter story proves that some souls are just destined to be together.

Like humans, dogs are social creatures. They have the ability to care, feel love, show concern, and create a bond with others. To act as if animals do not have emotional intelligence is far from the truth.
