It blows my mind to think that “American Idol” has been running for 16 years. It feels like just yesterday Kelly Clarkson was singing her way to the top! Time flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it? Time flies in general!
This season, “American Idol’s” 15-year-old Mara Justine is making the cut. And when she said she was born in 2002, and Katy Perry hid under the table, I can’t help but feel the same way!
Mara’s raw talent makes all of us want to run under the table and hide – in a good way! I mean, what am I doing with my life? This girl has been dreaming about this ALL her life! And here she is giving it her all at the “American Idol” audition. Mara chose to sing Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain,” and from the moment she started to sing and hit those high notes out of the park, the judges were in awe of this fierce voice in such a young girl.
Mara’s pitch, her vocals, the way she pronounced certain words with force and others with softness, impressed all three judges so much, they stood up in unison and had very little feedback.
