Appearances can be deceiving. What you see isn’t always what you get! And for this poor pup named Hurley, he’s not getting any reaction at all. To him, he sees a human. A perfectly good human who should want to play with him, I mean, how cute is Hurley after all? It’s a beautiful day in the dog park; there’s plenty of room to run around and get some fresh air. What’s wrong with this person? Why is he so stiff? And… grounded?
The 8-year-old border collie is in a state of complete utter confusion. I can only imagine what’s going through his head – this human is a party pooper. Total stick in the mud. Literally.
Owner Adam Shore is out on Liverpool’s Crosby Beach playing fetch. Hurley and Adam are having a great time when the pup notices a human figure in the not-too-far distance and drops the toy in front of it, prompting him to play. Except, it’s an iron figure by the sculptor Anthony Gormley, one of the many other figures part of the installation titled “Another Place.”
Adam can see Hurley try to make a new friend. Hurley is adamant to get this guy to play with him as he kneels and eagerly waits for some sign after dropping the ball. His tail is wagging in anticipation, but the fellow isn’t budging. So, Hurley tries again by picking up the toy, dropping it, kneeling and waiting. Adam’s timing with the camera is perfect, catching his dog’s adorable fail. Poor puppy! This encounter is too funny.
