Crow Becomes Unlikely Companion To Stray Kitten

One morning, an older couple got to witness the beginning of a truly beautiful, albeit extremely unusual, scenario. One the two couldn’t quite wrap their heads around, and neither could anyone else. This story is one that everyone had to see to believe, and even still, no one believed it.

The couple, Lois and Anne Colito from Attleborough, Massachusettes, saw something strange one morning. At first, it was just a stray kitten Lois says, “…was no older than 3-4 months old.” Not too long after, the couple notices the motherless kitten again, but with a new friend. The kitten, who they much later named Cassie, had befriended an enemy.

The new friend was a crow — of all animals! And right from the get-go, they were inseparable. Lois and Anne watched in disbelief as a crow, and a cat forged a friendship. Worried that the cat had no food, Anne tried leaving some out for the kitten. But when she looked out the window the following day, she saw the kitten lying down and the crow picking worms to feed its buddy! They were shocked.

It seems like something straight out of a fairy tale. Not only was the crow keeping the kitten alive by feeding him worms, but the bird was also finding water to share. Lois said, “Birds and cats aren’t friends! You just don’t see things like that!”

So Anne spoke to the office manager at the animal clinic, and as per the doctor’s request, she was instructed to take as many home videos as possible! What she recorded for the next eight months was the daily routine of a bird taking care of an abandoned kitten. If it wasn’t for this bird, the kitten surely wouldn’t have made it.
