I remember partaking in numerous talent shows at school when I was younger. My group of friends and I would sign up as soon as it was announced, and then we’d take the weeks leading up to the day, to practice to the best of our abilities. Although there were so many different talents that students showcased on a yearly basis, we always tended to stay conventional — we would dance.
We loved to pick our favorite pop song, one that would have the student body cheering and singing along, and put together a choreographed dance for the school. We danced to Alicia Keys, The Spice Girls, and Britney Spears, but never did we attempt anything from the Michael Jackson era. I’m actually kind of glad that we didn’t, because the little boy in the video below, would definitely put our performances to shame!
This 9-year-old came with the intentions of setting the stage on fire. He is an MJ fan, and his family says that the moves he’s busting in this video are all self-taught! No one taught the little boy to dance like this, and it’s impeccable that he can watch the iconic pop star and copy his moves to the tee!
He gets on stage and takes a powerful position before the music starts. Then, you hear “Billie Jean” begin to play, and a star comes over this boy. Everything from his use of the prop (the hat) to his moves are something that not many people can pull off even in their adult years — forget doing this as a kid!
The crowd goes wild for the performance, and there is so much cheer and appreciation for this little one as he ends the act with the infamous MJ pose.
