Traditional Irish dancing was said to have origins in the 13th century in Ireland and became increasingly widespread throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. Since then, this cultural form of dance has been performed through celebrations and used as a form of general entertainment.
Whether you’re a fan of any form of Irish dances or not, a unique Irish routine performed by the Fusion Fighters at the 2017 Irish Dance World Championships is sweeping viewers off their feet left and right. Their once-in-a-lifetime performance showcased both traditional and modern moves too good to pass up.
At first in the video, two talented female dancers appear on stage dancing in synchrony, followed by another twin-like pair. Then another pair. Well, you get the drift.
Next thing you know, several dancers, male and female, take charge of the stage, and things start to really liven up. Just when you think this is the best this dance gets, there’s more.
Next thing you know, there’s a single Irish dancer on stage, followed by another, until suddenly four fantastic men are showing off their quick feet and animated moves one-by-one. As a fifth and final male dancer arrives, it’s like nothing one has ever seen before. The quad of men were ultimately the stars of the show, but by the end of the video, everything is even more lively as all the previous performers jump on stage to provide a perfect show all in just a brief 35 seconds.
If you’re not totally in love with Irish dancing by the end of the short yet extravagant dance showcased in the video, I don’t know what will convince you!
