I didn’t know what to expect when I first saw these women onstage. But Cristina Pedroche Navas, Spanish personality, and media maven had something in store for the Los Viernes Al Show, beyond what immediately meets the eye.
Cristina’s outfit is modest, pants with a long, long-sleeved top, except right down the middle, it’s split in half. One side is black including her shoe, and the other side is white, (including her shoe). The contrast is eye-catching! The audience cheers, and she makes her way to the back of the stage as additional dancers join her.
What happens next is so delightfully strange and entertaining. The music comes on, and it’s Meghan Trainor’s, “All About The Bass.” The light show starts, the audience quiets down, and Cristina and the dancers appear on the sides of the stage. They are identically dressed as Cristina, except they are wearing short blonde wigs.
They dance around for a minute, setting the tone for their big reveal. They come together to link arms in the center of the stage, and this is where the real performance starts. It’s hard to understand what’s happening at first, but stick with it, and don’t move your eyes! This is a clever idea.
