Life is very busy nowadays. People work long hours and sometimes don’t have a proper work-life balance. The little bit of time they do get back at home they spend on their phone and answering work emails. It’s tough and it’s expected.
But, when people have such busy lives, it’s safe to say that they just don’t spend enough time with their families. Kids can go unnoticed some nights, you don’t get to catch dinner with your significant other, and these things can make for an unhappy environment in the house; mom or dad can find themselves in a situation like this one, it’s tough and a solution is needed.
You’ve probably heard this story a million times: it’s the day of the big recital but Mom or Dad is tied up with work and ends up being late. Or worse, he or she doesn’t make it at all and lets the family down. It’s been the theme of many Hollywood movies and unfortunately many time its a part of real life. Well, grab some tissues, because this wonderful video from Quaker Canada has a unique twist to that story.
Lauren, a 10-year-old dancer, had a dance recital coming up. All she really wanted was to spend more time with her busy father. Her dream was for her dad, Michael, to perform with her. Michael was not a dancer, nor had he ever performed on stage, but he also wanted to be able to spend more time with his daughter, so he would do anything to make her wish come true.
So he and his daughter trained for weeks and kept this a complete secret from Mom. On the night of the recital, Mom found herself next to an empty chair because Michael never showed up. We’re sure she was upset, wanting her husband to be a part of the night like she was, for their daughter. No one wants to keep attending school events and meetings on their own, both parents should be in tune with what’s happening at school. Well, dad knows this way to well, and little did mom know that her daughter and husband had a little secret. Dad was about to put on a show no one forgets for a long time!
