Not every story about shelters has to be a sad one. Here’s a very happy ending to this feline fairy tale.
Meet Louie and Luna, two stray cats who found love in the shelter where they met in Gainesville, Florida. Luna is a brown and orange Maine C**n, and Louie, an orange tabby, both with no forever homes and only each other as company.
These two kitty cats have known each other for a long time. Through thick and thin, Luna and Louie have been there for one another. What started as a friendship seemingly blossomed into kitty love; the two lovebirds…err…lovebugs are unable to separate from each other.
When future human parents James and his girlfriend went to the shelter, they were looking to adopt a dog. However, after getting acquainted with the feline pair and realizing that working fulltime and living in an apartment might not be the best option for a dog, the human parents returned two weeks later to adopt Luna, and foster Louie until he could find a home.
As it turns out, the universe had a greater plan in store. According to James, Luna and Louie just loved each other so much; it appeared that they cared more about each other than their human parents. One could not exist without the other – the two made themselves at home and wouldn’t leave each other’s side. It’s really sweet that these two kittens find so much safety and peace with one another. And it’s comforting for them to know that they have each other.
In the end, James and his girlfriend made the mutual decision it was best to keep both as a package deal and not sever the special bond they share. These humans know whats up and understand that even animal bonds are sacred. It’s so obvious that Luna and Louie just can’t live without one another. Maybe kittens are in the near future?
