Innovative Man Lives Large In A Tent That Resembles A Mini Palace

How do you build financial security, and make sustainable choices without entirely forgoing all the creature comforts of home? If there’s someone who’s got the answer to that, then it has to be the gentleman in the video down below. Let’s start with a little bit of information on him first, though.

New Zealander Bryce Langston is the host of YouTube sensation “Living Big In A Tiny House” and has been interested in the tiny home revolution for years. Wanting to ditch the status quo in search of a simpler life, Bryce decided to give up feeding into the rent trap, and go for a temporary option while his tiny home is in construction (his little home will be an off-the-grid 6.6m-long, 4.2m-high, 2.5m-wide mobile home made of high tensile steel).

Enter, the eco-friendly Lotus Belle Tent, a uniquely designed outback luxury tent created by designers Harriet Seddon and Jessica Walsh.

Bryce’s tent has a 16 ft floor diameter (big enough to fit six twin size beds!) and is made of heavy-duty, durable canvas. The interior is starkly simple but has everything he needs to live comfortably, including a snug sleeping area, a charming dining space, a convenient kitchen – with a sink, teeny fridge, and running water! – and a cozy living room that includes storage and a wood burning heater to keep warm at night.

And the bathroom? It’s a tiki-style hut and accessible via rope bridge, further giving this whole dreamlike set-up a playful, treehouse vibe. Again, there’s running hot and cold water, a shower head, and a compost toilet that takes care of waste sustainably. The roof is re-purposed from a patio umbrella, and the walls are made from bamboo cut down from the neighbors’ property.

It’s awesome to see so many different things being repurposed to make such an eco-friendly, yet luxurious, space to live. I must also say that it doesn’t look as spacey on the outside as it is on the inside. Quite impressive!

Have you gotten anywhere close to living this way? Maybe a trip out camping? Or, perhaps you experimented with living big in a tiny space, like Bryce?  If so, what was it like? We’d love to read about your experiences in the comments. Feel free to also tell us if this way of living is NOT for you! We’d love to know why not?!

In the meantime, get the inside scoop on Bryce’s oasis in the video below. It’s a little piece of green paradise!
