Surely there has been a moment or two in your life when you wished you could go back to kindergarten or elementary school? You know, when life feels simpler, the world shines a bit brighter, and you feel as though you can conquer the world?
Ok so going back in time isn’t possible (can someone please hurry up and invent a time machine?!) but you still can relive certain parts of your past life through nostalgia. Here’s one woman who has managed to capture those good ol’ days by combining a childhood favorite with her talent and incredible coordination. What is it? Jump rope!
Adrienn Banheggyi is an international sensation in the realm of her niche sport, jump rope. Who knew that this fun game could move outside of the schoolyard and cause so much entertainment for adults?
Pause for a second. You must be thinking, “Jump rope? That’s so easy. Anyone can do it. Why is it so special?” Ok, well into your adult years, jump rope most certainly is a great form of exercise! It totally increases your heart rate and is an excellent form of cardio. Plus, it’s rather athletic. You have to have some understanding of how hand-eye coordination works to be any good at it!
Adrienn is so good at jump rope, in fact, that she’s managed to win two world records throughout her 15 years of practice. This gal has taken the simple technique of jumping and skipping to add all sorts of wild tricks to her routine. This is some really cool stuff that takes talent, passion, and skill to pull off. Don’t believe me? She’s been selected to perform with the world-famous performers at Cirque du Soleil! That’s gotta stand for something!
But despite her busy lifestyle, she still manages to find the time to teach children and adults some of her skills, in the hope of creating a healthier and more active lifestyle for everyone. She says that, by participating in the sport, one can gain confidence, strength, and leadership.
So if you thought you were the king or queen of jump rope during your childhood years, Adrienn would give you a run for your money!
Give the video below a watch and see what you think! Do you think you could take her on in a jump rope-off?
