But Some People Are Trying To Change That

Harold Fairclough, the head Football coach at Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania, wanted his players to have a “positive impact, not just on the football field.”

He Gave Them An Assignment

Harold set up a “lunch buddy program” where every player would pick a classmate with a disability to partner with during lunch every Friday.

From Mandatory To Voluntary

All of the students enjoyed the program so much that both the players and the students were doing it voluntarily.

It Became Personal

Some of the Football players now sit with their partners every day and are also considering pursuing careers related to special education.

The students are the future leaders of society, and changing the culture inside the campus is one step toward changing society and the world.
